The Centre supports students, faculty, staff and alumni who wish to enhance their own academic experience, while contributing to stronger communities locally, nationally and internationally.

Community Service Learning

CSL is a form of experiential learning that enriches and enhances classroom teaching and the student experience. This innovative pedagogical model allows students to get involved in their community by participating in course-based projects or volunteer work that are related to their program of study. Community Engagement

Beyond the Community Service Learning program, which integrates volunteer hours and classwork, the Centre promotes volunteer opportunities with community partners located on and off campus for all its members: students, staff, faculty graduates and retirees.

Community-based Research

Are you a Community Partner already working with the Centre? Are you a community organization who would like research on a question but don't have the time or resources to do it? If you think a student or group of students could help you with this research as part of a course practicum, contact us.

Supporting grassroots initiatives
